  • April 24-28: Grades 1-5 Terra Nova Standardized Testing (Please don’t schedule late arrivals or early releases and have your student(s) eat a healthful breakfast.)
  • April 28: Grade 4 field trip to the Statehouse, 11:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
  • April 28: Grades K-5 Friendship Girls Marmon Valley Ice Cream Social, ES cafeteria, 3:30 p.m.
  • May 1: Grade 3 field trip to Old Worthington, 9:05 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • May 4: Grades K-5 morning rehearsal for Spring Music Program
  • May 5: Grades 1-5 Grandparent’s Day (see below for details)

  • GRADES K-5 MARMON VALLEY ICE CREAM PREVIEW – April 28, 3:30-4:00 PM, ES cafeteria:  A Big Howdy to All Elementary Moms and Daughters!  It’s time to start saddling up for our Annual Friendship Girls Marmon Valley Weekend Retreat being held on September 8. 9, and 10, 2017.  So, mosey on down and join us for our ICE CREAM PREVIEW on FRIDAY, April 28th to get more information, ask questions and sign up for all the excitement this fall!   Flyers with more information about the Ice Cream Preview and the Mother Daughter Weekend will be coming home on Monday.  We will enjoy ice cream and have a special craft for the girls.  And maybe even a special visit from Wrangler Matt.  Partial and Full Scholarships available upon request. We do request payment of  $50 when registering.

  • GRANDPARENT’S DAY – Friday May 5
    • Information Letter:  Please find the information letter and form here (to return to the school office by Wednesday, April 26): Grandparents Info letter.
    • Creative Moments will, once again, be creating images on their beautiful hand-painted portrait background of any Grandchildren with their Grandparents who may wish to place an order.  Please find the Portrait Order Form here: Grandparents Day Picture Order Form 2016-17.  For your convenience and will also be distributed at school.  However, since this is always such a popular “legacy moment” for our students, we wanted to avail you of the Order Form via email so you can plan ahead.  The Shindles will be photographing between 10 am and 12 Noon that day and will be accepting your paperwork on a “first come/first served” basis.  They look forward to capturing this special time for your grandchild (and yourselves!) to enjoy not only now, but in future years ahead. Trust the entire morning will be one of great memories for all!
  • RETIREMENT PARTY FOR MRS. PATTI HAYER, Saturday, May 13, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • From her contagious smile to her warm hugs, Mrs. Patti Hayer is loved by current and former students, parents, and co-workers alike. After 35 years of faithful service, Mrs. Hayer is retiring at the end of the school year.
    • Come celebrate Mrs. Hayer on Saturday, May 13, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This drop-in reception with light refreshments will be held in the AC Auditorium (6675 Worthington-Galena Road). Please enter through the west-facing doors.
    • Post your words of blessing, as well as favorite memories and pictures on the Patti Hayer Retirement Celebration event, which is on the WCS Facebook page. You may also send cards and notes to Mrs. Hayer at WCES, 50 Westview, Columbus, OH 43214, or bring them along with you on May 13.   • GRADE 5 – BOWLING CLUB FORMING FOR FIFTH THROUGH NINTH GRADE STUDENTS:  The boys and girls varsity bowling teams invite students in grades five to nine to join the Capri Bowling Club. Bring a friend and join us for lots of bowling fun. Each session includes bowling, shoe rental, and instruction from several United States Bowling Congress (USBC) certified coaches.
