Annual gifts made to the WCS Fund are the lifeblood of the school. Reoccurring gifts made on an annual basis amplify tuition and provide the margin of excellence on which WCS was founded and continues to flourish today.
In a day and age of special interest giving, the need for unrestricted gifts (gifts made without limitations) is escalating. Unrestricted gifts to the WCS Fund enables school leaders to act nimbly and decisively at moments when doing so can make a real difference. For example, providing just a little more financial aid for the promising student of a single parent; enhancing a start-up package for a brilliant faculty candidate; improving the lights and sound in the auditorium for an upcoming theatrical production; replacing worn-out equipment in the strength and training room, or defraying expenses for faculty and coaches who engage students outside the classroom in discussions about God, school, relationships, and life in general. The WCS Fund touches every area of the school—literally! Think of it as the Five A’s of the WCS Fund.
Developing in students the mind of Christ is job #1. Since we’re a school (not the home or church), we accomplish this through rigorous academics taught by passionate, credentialed, and caring faculty.
A key distinctive of a WCS education is the discipleship of students outside the classroom. Alumni repeatedly cite stories of passions that were flamed, skills that were developed, and spiritual truths that were caught through interaction with faculty and fellow students while engaged in chapel, student government, mission trips, field trips, events, service clubs, and more.
An inherent quality of Christian education is making available tuition assistance to mission-minded families who have a qualified financial need. Your gift to the WCS Fund touches the lives of 225 students in a very personal way.
God’s Word tells us God is the original artist (Genesis 1:1), the one of whom the word “creator” is truly descriptive. At WCS, we’re committed to giving students the opportunity to pursue their passion for the fine and performing arts. In fact, it’s one of WCS’ fastest growing programs.
The Reverend Billy Graham said “One coach will impact more young people in one year than the average person does in a lifetime.” With nearly 70 percent of 7th through 12th grades students participating in the athletic program, the opportunity for life-changing impact is enormous.
