Obtaining the necessary financial resources to provide an excellent Christ-focused education is an ongoing challenge. Tuition revenues alone do not meet the financial needs of Christian schools and thus, our students are dependent upon the kindness of donors to meet these vital needs. We appreciate your gifts, great and small, and THANK YOU for your prayers and support. Several gift options are available to those who desire to invest in the education of our students.
The WCS Foundation was established for the purpose of allowing donors an opportunity to give gifts for the future growth and development of Worthington Christian Schools. The Foundation supports the following funds:
Above and Beyond in Christ Program (ABC Program) – This is a restricted fund where alumni, current students and donors can donate to acknowledge and thank those WCS staff members who made a unique impact on them. Investment earnings and dividends provide continuing education dollars to staff and faculty, as well as, additional materials, supplies and programs that are beyond the normal funding resources. Driven By Vision— Gifts to this fund are an undesignated contribution to Driven By Vision: The Campaign for WCS. This means that a gift to this fund will help achieve all of the campaign’s capital goals, which include construction of an upper school on the North Campus, additions and renovations to the lower school on the South Campus, and improvements to athletic facilities.
This fund shall be housed at The Columbus Foundation. The WCS Foundation retains the right to add to the fund from time to time and other individuals, organizations, and corporations are also encouraged to add to the fund. The WCS Foundation is permitted to remove the entire balance of the Driven By Vision fund for expenses directly related to the campaigns defined projects.
Driven By Vision: Athletic Facilities—Gifts held in this fund have been designated for the improvement of athletic facilities as defined by Driven By Vision: The Campaign for WCS. This campaign defines these improvements as stadium bleachers, press box, field turf, permanent outdoor restrooms and concessions, and a commemorative entrance. A gift to this fund will help achieve only these goals.
These improvements to athletic facilities are part of the overall goal of Driven By Vision: The Campaign for WCS. The campaign’s capital projects also include construction of an upper school on the North Campus and additions and renovations to the lower school on the South Campus. To give undesignated gifts to the campaign consider giving to the Driven By Vision fund.

WCS’s Annual Fund is an annual fundraising campaign which runs from July 1 through June 30 each year. Various fundraising events support this fund. Donor contributions to the WCS Annual Fund campaign are earmarked to supplement the schools’ annual operating costs including student financial assistance, teacher professional development, teacher salaries, and other areas of need at the discretion of school administrators.
The Adopt-A-Student Fund is an annual tuition assistance program for those individuals, businesses, or families who wish to sponsor a portion or all of a student’s tuition for the school year. Donors to this fund are also asked to pray for children in the program as well!
The Kid’s Legacy Classic is WCS’s only student-led fundraiser. This letter-writing campaign supports not only WCS’s Community Impact Day, but also capital improvement funds, as specified by the building principals, that will directly impact the students’ school experience. All of our students, kindergarten through grade 12, spend the day involved in community service and worship.
Many companies sponsor matching gift programs that will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Some even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. There are even corporate programs that will donate dollars for volunteer hours donated on behalf of their employees to local non-profit organizations. These programs are a great way for companies to support education, and a chance for you to double or even triple your gift!
Worthington Christian Schools is a 501(c)(3) organization and therefore qualifies for these types of programs. We’ve put together a list of local corporate matching gift programs along with a link to each program’s requirements. These links provide details on how to initiate a matching gift with your employer. Most companies have matching gift forms available through their personnel office that you fill out and mail to us. We do the rest — it’s that simple!
For more information on any of these funds, contact Polly Shoemaker, Director of Advancement, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Donations may be mailed to the WCS Office of Advancement, 6675 Worthington-Galena Road, Worthington, OH 43085.
