French

The idea of speaking another language can be frightening and students often think that they must wait until they know all the grammar and vocabulary in order to communicate. That means that no one would be communicating on a spoken level until the more advanced classes. Spoken communication and language useful to given situations are a necessary part of French on every level. Students are encouraged on every level to use whatever language components they have at their disposal. All material presented is accessible to, and learnable by, all students.

Memorizing Scripture in French helps students appreciate God's Word from the view of French speaking people. In upper level classes, students practice sharing their faith by using witnessing tools such as Campus Crusade's Four Spiritual Laws. We never know when we might have the opportunity to share our faith in our new language.

Assessment is based on quizzes, tests, class participation, workbook, activities, projects and exams.
