Curriculum
Band - 1 CreditCourse No. 900
The band program will be devoted to rehearsing and performing a variety of musical styles, including classical, jazz and pep band music. The band will perform at concerts, basketball games and field trips. Band is a full year course.
A Capella Choir - 1 Credit
Course No. 903 - Women
Course No. 904 - Men
A cappella Choir is a combination of three performing groups rehearsing daily for the full year. They are Men's Choir, Women's Choir and Mixed Choir. The student will perform a broad range of choral literature with emphasis on the classics and singing "in the chapel style," unaccompanied. He/she will, over time, learn the fundamentals of proper vocal production, musical expression and sight reading. A cappella Choir requires time outside of class for various rehearsals, concerts, performances, festivals and contests. Some apparel purchase is required, at a cost of under $60.00. It can be used throughout the high school years, so this is a one time expense. This course is open to all students by audition and written permission of instructor.
