Director of Student Services - Dave Muschott
Thank you for visiting the Student Services page. One of my roles as Director of Student Services is guidance counseling. As guidance counselor, I plan to meet with all the seniors in the fall to discuss ACT/SAT testing, college visits and the application process. In the spring, I will meet with all the Juniors and talk with them concerning their future college plans. It is our goal to take several college trips this year. Information will be forthcoming.
It is my desire to build relationships with all the students at WCHS, especially new students and freshmen. I am available for general counseling and follow-up with all our high school students. We can also refer parents/students to counseling resources and make recommendations to outside counseling services.
Graduation Awards
The following awards will be recognized each graduation ceremony:
- Honors Group: Top 10 percent of the graduating class by GPA. Valedictorian and salutatorian will be recognized.
- Solomon Award: Senior who best demonstrated wisdom through diligence in academic endeavors.
- Daniel Award: Senior who best exemplifies bold faith through consistent spiritual growth and discipline.
- Joshua Award: Senior who most consistently displays positive participation and leadership in student activities and student government.
For graduation awards 2-4, seniors must have completed their entire junior and senior year at WCS to be eligible.
Minimum Graduation
Graduation from Worthington Christian Schools is based upon specific curricular requirements as well as a student's personal demonstration of cooperation with the philosophy of our school. Regarding this required curriculum, our philosophy states:
"This curriculum seeks to introduce students to the Truth which God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, has revealed in His Word, in His world, and in and through His Son, Jesus Christ. Not only are students introduced to the facts of this Truth, but they also are instructed on how to apply these truths in and through their own lives."
