Description: The 2019 Boys and Girls Golf Camp is hosted by Tom Burns and WC players. These camps are designed for boys and girls entering grades 3-8. Kids will be grouped based on age and experience, so each boy and girl will receive instruction that is appropriate for their current level. No experience is necessary for a kid to have a great camp with the Warrior golfers! And each camp day is unique, so kids can take part in as few or as many as they are able and they’ll get a unique experience that will help them build on whatever foundation they may already have.
Each camp day will begin with technical instruction (but using fun games and contests to engage the kids) on the golf swing, putting, and the short game. They will be in groups with kids their age and ability level. After that, all golfers will head out to the course to play. Again, they will be put in appropriate groups along with a high school golfer to help them get around the course and get to know how the game is played. Older golfers who intend to play golf at the middle school level will play a full nine holes and play stroke play. Younger and less experienced golfers will start out playing three to six holes of scramble golf, and depending on their progress during the summer, they may move on to more holes or even individual stroke play.
The goal is for the kids to have fun learning the game of golf. So everything at these camps will be low pressure, encouraging, and engaging.
