GETTING TO KNOW WC’S NEW HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dr. Mike Hayes and wife Angela share snapshots of their story and vision for Worthington Christian

As was announced in December of 2021, Dr. Mike Hayes will join Worthington Christian’s rich history of leaders this July as the new Head of School. The Head of School is the person chiefly responsible for inspiring a shared vision and pathway for WC to continue moving forward. This leadership transition is an extraordinary time for the entire school community and one that comes with many questions: Who is Dr. Hayes and what is his background? Given his 27-year career at the university level, what drew him to a K-12 school? How has God prepared him for this role? What kind of leader will he be? What plans and vision does he have for WC?

There will be opportunities to meet Dr. Hayes and his wife Angela in the coming school year, but we want to provide the community with a chance to “sit down” with Dr. and Mrs. Hayes to get to know them before then. Below is a video interview with Dr. Hayes and his wife Angela that serves that very purpose: getting to know who this special couple is and how God is writing the story that led them to WC. The length of this interview (over 45 minutes) is a reflection of the significance of this moment for WC and the Hayes family. We hope that you are able to catch a glimpse of God’s hand at work in and through them, both past and present. We also hope that you join us in our excitement for what God has planned at WC in this next chapter! Enjoy the video here:

For those who may be more inclined to listen to the conversation rather than watch the full video, the audio is available as a bonus episode on WC’s podcast for parents, “Navigating Your Child’s Education.”
