MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY: BELIEVE DIFFERENTLY
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
Our restructuring continues. We are working on shifting our focus, asking questions about what we believe, and creating the right atmosphere to do the work. We are on a journey to wholeness through Jesus. Freedom to discover who we are in Him. Chances are, you had a vision of this at one time or another and life got busy, looks different than you thought, and you are in a place that you don’t recognize. Our goal is to create a place of wholeness we call our new normal, but some of you wish you could stay where you are and have given up on where you once thought
God was leading you.
Maybe you have been doing well on restructuring some of the places in life that need a cleanup and there was momentum for a while, but everything slowed down and you have faced some disbelief. Will anything really change? You are straddling the old and what could be. You have tasted the other side of the surrender, but you are sometimes too comfortable where you are to really make a change. We get stuck focusing on what was lost or what didn’t happen vs. what is to come.
Here is the next exercise to help us on our journey:
Open God’s Word and focus on what He is saying to us through the scriptures. Who does God say you are? He calls us a child of God, a friend, a new creation, free, chosen, holy, redeemed, forgiven, God’s workmanship, righteous, a citizen of heaven, and His beloved just to name a few. When we stay in this place with Him, the doubts fade away and we remember whose we are and can have confidence in what He is calling us to do next.
Take time this week to respond to what God is speaking to you and practice something different until it becomes a part of your new normal. God has a purpose for your life, He created you for His glory and He wants to use you. Open your hands and let Him show you how to restructure your unbelief and replace it with His never-ending love and grace. Take time to be still and let His Word wash over you. Write down what you hear Him saying to you and take the first step, knowing He is holding your hand!
Plan to join Moms & Muffins this Wednesday, March 2 at 10 a.m. in the Grace Polaris Church Ministry Center. An RSVP is appreciated.
