STAFF SPOTLIGHT: HOLLY VARIAN (WC ’91)
Holly Varian is no stranger to WC and has been lending a helping hand to students and parents for more than 18 years. Her servant’s heart, breadth of knowledge, and helpful advice perfectly round out the Upper School Administrative team.
What is your role at WC, and how long have you worked here?
I have been with WC for 18 years in a number of roles. Currently, I am the substitute coordinator for grades K-12 and part of the administrative office team at the Upper School.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Generational relationships. I attended WC beginning in fourth grade through graduation. My two younger brothers attended and both of my parents were WC faculty. The lifelong relationships spanning several generations that we’ve experienced are something I cherish. Seeing past generations of families continue to support WC through prayer, attendance of events, and financial means to give other families the opportunity to make WC a reality is such an encouragement to me.
What is your favorite verse, and why?
Proverbs 3:5-6 was my senior verse and is still applicable today. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” It is way too easy to lean on what I understand to be true and He has shown me over and over that, if I will trust, He will lead. So grateful.
