Leatha Houk graciously serves our youngest students in the Lower School – Grades K-2 lunch room. She enjoys seeing the excitement and joy the little things bring to students’ faces.

What is your role at WC, and how long have you worked here?
I work in Food Service at the Lower School – Grades K-2. I have been in this role for two years.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspect of my job is serving the kindergartners, first-graders, and second graders! They are truly a delight and fun and have high opinions about their lunches. It’s fun to see them get excited over jello, pizza, foot-long hot dogs, and whether lunch is served on a white or black tray. The details matter to them, which makes it a delight because they care about their lunches.

What is your favorite Bible verse, and why?
My favorite verse is Matthew 6:34 – “So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” It truly is the cure for any anxiety that I may experience. My Lord and Savior shared this, and if I believe Him for my salvation, I should also believe Him when it comes to my future days
