TEACHER TUESDAY: NICK JOHNSON
Nick Johnson joined WC’s faculty in 2018. He currently teaches Business and Entrepreneurial Incubator.
How would you describe your teaching style? “I try and make my classes as relevant, realistic, and hands-on as possible for the students. use a lot of real-world examples and stories from my own life to give students a deeper understanding of certain topics.”
What is the most challenging aspect of your work? “Trying to coordinate field trips for multiple classes, finding placements for students for Internship Academy, finding guest speakers, developing a more hands-on business curriculum, and now running a school coffee shop can get overwhelming at times with all the different aspects of my classes.”
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work? “I thoroughly enjoy it when a student comes to me for advice. I like to know what students are passionate about and interested in, and how I can help them achieve their goals. Plus, the energy of the students and some of the craziness that comes with them keeps me on my toes.”
How do you incorporate faith and learning in your class? “I give students real-world ethical dilemmas that they may encounter in the workplace and hold them against biblical truth.”
