Susie Winfree Steps Into Head Coach Role
We are excited to announce that Susie Winfree will lead our Girls Varsity Tennis program starting this Fall. Winfree, who has served as an Assistant Coach for both the girls and boys tennis programs over the years, will step into the Head Coach role next season.
Winfree graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Sports Organization and has coached both basketball and tennis at the high school level. Coach Winfree has also played USTA tennis for many years.
While Coach Winfree is passionate about tennis, she is even more excited to mentor student-athletes in their relationship with the Lord and to prepare them for success beyond the court. She shared, “I am so excited to return to coaching tennis at WC, where I can encourage the girls in their relationship with Christ and each other as they continue to improve their tennis skills!”
Athletic Director Tony Earp said, “Coach Winfree has been a consistent and valued part of the WC tennis program and community over the years. She has a heart for discipling student-athletes and a passion for teaching the game of tennis, helping each athlete achieve their goals. We are thrilled to have her take over as Head Coach and are excited to see her impact continue in this new role.”
Susie and her husband, Ben, have been married for 25 years, and they have three children: Kara, Brooke (WC ‘23), and Ben Jr. (WC ‘27).
Please join us in welcoming Coach Winfree as our new Girls Varsity Tennis Head Coach!
