Register by Monday, October 5!
Grandparents/Special Friend Day is a special opportunity for our Lower School students to welcome their grandparents or another special friend to WC. It’s a chance to share a piece of their everyday school life, introduce them to the people and places that fill their days, and simply enjoy time together. We love giving these important people in our students’ lives a glimpse into their WC experience.
Important Notes
- Grandparents Day will serve as the Lower School program for the day. There will be no regular school day on October 9 for students who are not participating in Grandparents Day.
- Students participating in Grandparents Day should arrive with their grandparent or special friend at their assigned time and depart together at the conclusion of their visit.
- There will be no lunch service this day.
- The morning shuttle from the Upper School to the Lower School will be canceled this day.
Event Details
To make room for all of our grandparents and special friends, Grandparents Day will be split into two sessions based on student last name:
9–11 AM | Student Last Name A–J
1–3 PM | Student Last Name K–Z
Grandparents and special friends will get a chance to step into the school day alongside their student! Visit classrooms, get creative with arts and crafts, spend some time on the playground, and enjoy being together on campus.
Guests can also stop by the drink station for a refreshment and visit the Spirit Store, where special WC Grandparent shirts will be available for purchase.
Parents must register their child’s guest(s) by Monday, October 5
Volunteer
Join the Fun! Grandparents Day is a community endeavor, and we’ll need plenty of helping hands to make the day run smoothly. Volunteers can help with parking, check-in, staff lunch, the drink station, playground fun, or simply help guests find their way around campus.
Come be part of the day and help us welcome and serve our students, their special friends, and our staff!
Transportation
As you know, parking at our Lower School is limited, and Grandparents Day brings lots of extra visitors to campus! If possible, we encourage families to carpool or arrange to be dropped off and picked up.
Depending on parking availability, guests visiting the 3–6 building may need to park in the K–2 lot and walk across campus. We appreciate your flexibility as we work to welcome everyone.
Please note: The morning shuttle from the Upper School to the Lower School will not run on Grandparents Day.
