OUR FATHER “IN HEAVEN”

Home » Archives » Past School Years » OUR FATHER “IN HEAVEN”

Why does the Lord’s Prayer include “in Heaven”? What does it mean that God is our Father “in Heaven”? The reality that God is our Father in Heaven means that he is wholly other, and that he is ever and always present with us. Even in seasons during which we do not feel like God is present, he is with us.

Colossians 3:1-14 offers wisdom on how believers should love as those made alive in Christ. The third verse of that passage says, “…your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” As we are hidden in him, and he is ever-present with us, we ought to give God our affection, and find shelter, comfort, and confidence in him. He should be the center of our passion, our everything.

Mark Artrip, lead pastor of Movement Church in Hilliard, shared these truths with students during Upper School chapel last Thursday.
