Recognizing strong academic outcomes and broad access to college-level learning across the Classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027

Worthington Christian School has once again been named to the College Board’s AP School Honor Roll, earning Silver Distinction for 2025. The AP School Honor Roll was launched by the College Board in 2023, and Worthington Christian has now been recognized for the second consecutive year. This recognition reflects both strong academic outcomes and a commitment to expanding access to college-level coursework for students.

The Silver designation celebrates the collective success of the Classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027, highlighting a school culture that values challenge, growth, and preparation for the future.

By the numbers (2025):

  • 111 students enrolled in at least one AP course
  • 95 students earned a score of 3 or higher on an AP exam
  • 173 AP exams taken
  • 23 students recognized as AP Scholars (scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams), including:
    • 5 AP Scholars with Honors: average score of 3.25+ across all exams and scores of 3+ on four or more exams
    • 8 AP Scholars with Distinction: average score of 3.5+ across all exams and scores of 3+ on five or more exams

These results reflect not only exam performance but also steady participation in rigorous coursework across multiple grade levels and subject areas.

Behind these achievements are WC teachers who know their students well, guide them through challenging college-level coursework, and walk alongside them, supporting their growth throughout the process.

“We are thrilled with the growth we’ve seen in this area over the past several years and are looking to add three new AP courses in the 2026–27 school year,” said Christina Hoverman, Director of Teaching & Learning at Worthington Christian.

At Worthington Christian, students can take AP courses beginning in their sophomore year, with offerings across core academic disciplines. AP classes are designed to mirror college expectations, encouraging critical thinking, clear communication, and deeper engagement with complex ideas.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that foster a strong college-prep culture, broaden access to advanced coursework, and help students build the confidence needed to succeed academically. This year’s Silver Distinction highlights the dedication of WC faculty and staff in guiding students to excel and think critically within a Christ-centered learning environment.
