The Warrior Athlete of the Month (WAM) recognizes students who exemplify one of the four core pillars of a Warrior Athlete: Focus, Perseverance, Connection, and Leadership. These qualities reflect not only strong athletic performance, but also a character that strengthens our school community. We are incredibly proud of these student-athletes for their dedication, effort, and desire to honor Christ both in competition and throughout the school day.
Thank you to the coaches who submitted nominations. Nominations are open year-round for all middle school and high school athletes, regardless of whether they are in-season or out of season. Coaches can nominate a student-athlete HERE.
Congratulations to last month’s honorees!

FOCUS: Addie Wrobbel
Cheerleading | Freshman
Nominated by Coach Lewis
“She has stepped up in a BIG way and is a major contributor to our team’s results, placing second at OHSSA. When a senior was sick, she quickly learned her role and performed fabulously. Even though she had to miss the national competition, a very difficult moment for her, she maintained a positive attitude, stayed connected with her teammates, and never lost sight of what is most important.”

PERSEVERE: Noah Rice
Baseball | Senior
Nominated by Coach Colley
“Noah started with an incredibly successful freshmen year of varsity baseball. Unfortunately, Noah found himself constantly battling back from injuries for two seasons. But Noah was determined to persevere and fight his way back for his senior year. All through the off season, no one has worked harder. Instead of allowing his struggles to defeat him, Noah grew and matured, ready to take the field for his senior year. Noah’s perseverance through all that he has faced has been an inspiration to his teammates and coaches, and we are excited to see what God has in store for him!”

CONNECT: Hadley Van Arendonk
Basketball | Seventh Grade
Nominated by Coaches Earp and Doellman
“Hadley is an incredible competitor, but more importantly, an outstanding teammate. She is always seeking ways to help her teammates be successful. On top of her commitments to the 7th grade team, she supported the 8th grade team by providing a needed additional player for practices and games. Between both teams, she fully committed to helping both in anyway her coaches asked her. Hadley is an example of what it means to put the team and others above herself and playing in a way to uplift others. ”

LEAD: Lila Von Recum
Softball | Senior
Nominated by Coach McGlothlin
“Lila is one of the strongest athletes I know, quiet but supportive, and coachable. Lila is the best example of leading by example. If she can’t make something in the off season, she contacts me to ask what she should do instead, doing all the lifts on her own time, as she also works. All of Lila’s teammates have looked up to her for years. Lila leads and inspires others to strive for more.”
