We want to take a moment to highlight a new face in our Upper School starting this month!

Worthington Christian is excited to welcome Carmen Knott as an Upper School Spanish Teacher. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish & Latin American Literatures and Cultures, and a Master’s in Strategic Communications from The Ohio State University. Carmen comes to us after serving as a Spanish Teacher in Worthington City Schools. Carmen and her husband have two young sons, and just welcomed another baby boy in August!

We asked staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Carmen!

What’s something people might be surprised to find out about you?
My last name is actually pronounced “kuh-not” – the “k” is not silent!

If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
How to be more handy at fixing things like cars, sinks, furniture, etc.

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
Two come to mind. First is a Spanish teacher who was just so fun to talk to, encouraging and kind. The second was my Chemistry teacher – also very encouraging and kind, and it was the only science class I understood well.

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Ajiaco soup – a traditional Colombian soup.

What makes a “good day” at school?
When students are engaged, asking questions, and having fun with Spanish!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Work hard, stay humble, and pray on it.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Jeremiah 29:11.
