As we begin a new school year, we want to take a moment to highlight a few new faces at WC, as well as some familiar faces stepping into new roles.
Worthington Christian is excited to welcome Doug Weygandt as a Math Teacher in our Upper School. He holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Grove City College and a Master’s in Educational Administration from The Ohio State University. Doug comes to WC after previously serving as a Math Teacher at Hilliard Davidson High School. Doug is a familiar face at WC, as his wife, Martha, served in our Upper School for several decades, and their three children are all WC alumni.
We asked staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Doug!
What is the first job you ever had?
Computer Programmer.
What’s something people might be surprised to find out about you?
I used to have a lawn aeration business called “Doug’s Plugs.”
If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Guitar.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Martha’s lasagna.
What makes a “good day” at school?
When students are fully engaged in their own learning, a “light bulb” moment occurs, enabling them to gain understanding and confidence.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Focus on what you can control, and let go of what you can’t.
What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Proverbs 3:5-6.
