As we begin a new school year, we want to take a moment to highlight a few new faces at WC, as well as some familiar faces stepping into new roles.
Worthington Christian is excited to welcome Rachel Anstead as a Third Grade Teacher in our Lower School. Rachel comes to us from Bowling Green University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education. Rachel is engaged and recently moved to Columbus.
We asked staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Rachel!
What is something people might be surprised to find out about you?
While I worked at Camp Fire Sandusky County, I partnered with NASA to teach STEM programs.
Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
Mrs. Dubois was my favorite teacher because she was unbelievably kind and was passionate about having all students succeed.
If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Gymnastics. I was always teaching myself tricks growing up, but I’d love to know how to really do it!
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
My mom’s marinated chicken wings with green beans from the garden.
What is your favorite family tradition?
We hide a pickle on Christmas, and my two brothers and I race to find it. Whoever wins gets a prize.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Don’t stress about tomorrow, for it will steal the joy of today.
What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Psalm 23.
