IN THE NEWS: WORTHINGTON CHRISTIAN’S ETHAN ALBERT NAMED COLUMBUS AREA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

In a vote that ended Sept. 30, Dispatch.com readers selected the Athlete of the Week for competitions that took place from before Sept. 25.

This week’s winner is Worthington Christian football player Ethan Albert.

Albert had had 89 yards and three touchdowns on five carries, two kick returns for 109 yards and a TD a 65-yard TD pass in a 63-21 win over Fisher Catholic.

Albert received 37.59% of the vote and was followed by Reynoldsburg volleyball player Daniella Kefauver, who had 36.55% of the votes, trailing Albert by only 113 votes. Next was Fisher Catholic soccer/football player J.J. Viau (6.2%), Upper Arlington football player Wally Swiney (6.1%), Grandview cross country/soccer player Maci Tew (4.6%) and Pickerington North football player Preston Bowman (2%).
