Pediatric Cancer Awareness Game
Join us this Saturday morning, May 10, at 11:00 a.m. as the Worthington Christian Varsity Baseball Team takes on Elgin. Fans are encouraged to wear yellow in support of families affected by pediatric cancer.
Proceeds from concessions and raffle baskets will go to Lighthouse Family Retreat, a Christian nonprofit that supports families living through childhood cancer.
This cause is close to home for this team. Jameson Colley, a senior on the team, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2019. During his treatment, the baseball program provided steady support. When given the opportunity to make a wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he chose to give back to his team. The batting cage behind the third base dugout, built in his honor, is a lasting reflection of that choice.
In 2021, the Colleys attended a Lighthouse retreat, which offered rest and encouragement during a difficult time. Since then, they’ve returned to serve other families and are stepping into leadership roles with the organization this summer.
Concessions—hot dogs, chips, candy, soda, and more—will be available, and themed raffle baskets will be on display.
We hope you’ll join us for the game—and in support of families walking through pediatric cancer.
