Making a difference on the Grades K-6 Campus.

Volunteers are a vital part of community life at Worthington Christian School, and opportunities abound for parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, and friends to get involved. Let us know if you don’t find an opportunity that fits your skillset or schedule. We welcome your ideas.

Volunteers must complete a background check before serving.

Art Room Helper

Art Room Helpers assist with various tasks, including displaying art throughout the school, getting out and cleaning up supplies, and coming alongside the teachers and students as needed.

Contact Suzanne Homoelle or submit the Volunteer Interest Form to get involved.

Cafeteria Help

Do you have time to spare during the day and love interacting with the students and staff?  The cafeteria may be your spot!  Lower School volunteers help the younger students with opening packages, getting condiments for the students, and helping clean the tables between lunch lines.  The Upper School volunteers work beside the food service staff to help serve our students and staff as they come through the lunch line. Volunteers will need to be in place and trained before school starts.

Contact Kathy Kramer or submit the Volunteer Interest Form to get involved.

DadLab

DadLab is a group of Lower School dads who encourage one another to pursue intentional personal relationships with Jesus and their families. DadLab small groups meet five to six times per track, weekly or monthly. This group also coordinates Dads and Doughnuts.

Grandparents Day | October 18, 2024

Do you have a special place in your heart for making memories for our students with their grandparents?  Then we’d love your help creating a special day for the grandparents or special friends in our children’s lives.  Volunteer help includes decorating, working with staff on activities specific to Grandparents Day, setting up refreshments and maintaining photo area help, and managing the day’s activities. Opportunities to serve as the coordinator, on the planning committee, or help on event day are available.

Library

Opportunities abound to serve in one or both Lower School libraries, including checking out books, reshelving books, and helping our youngest readers. Training takes place before the start of school.

Praying Parents

This group is open to any Lower School parents who want to pray over the school, the students, and the staff in each building.  Please join us the second Monday of each month from 8:45-9:45 a.m. in the Auditorium on the K-2 Campus.

Contact Co-Coordinators Christen Shore or Heather Stanek or submit the Volunteer Interest Form to get involved.

Room Parents

Room parents are needed for each classroom.  Tasks include planning holiday parties, helping with special events in the classroom, and communicating with fellow parents about any classroom needs. A parent may only serve as a Room Parent for one classroom, and assignments are not made until after class lists are posted. A volunteer meeting is held at the beginning of the year to gain more information.

Speech Meet

The ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) Speech Meet is a much-anticipated annual event. Numerous judges and coaches are needed.

Stay and Play | August-October and March-May

Are you interested in fostering relationships with other parents?  This committee is responsible for scheduling and attending K-6 Stay and Plays, held after school during the fall and spring months.  This is a low-commitment committee if you are interested in involvement but can’t commit too much time. Opportunities to serve as the coordinator, on the planning committee, or help on event day are available.

Veteran’s Day | November 11, 2024

Do you feel passionate about showing our veterans appreciation for their sacrifice while teaching our children the importance of these sacrifices, understanding the history, and the love for our country?  Then we would love your help in making this day memorable.  Tasks will include finding Veterans to include in the day, helping with activities, managing the flow of the day’s events, decorating, and working with staff on activities specific to Veterans Day. Opportunities to serve as the coordinator, on the planning committee, or help on event day are available.
