Making Your Gift

Home » Support WC » Making Your Gift

Meet your charitable objectives.

Several options for supporting WC are available. We recommend you speak with your financial advisor or accountant for the most up-to-date tax laws and benefits and determine the best option. If you would like to talk confidentially about supporting WC, contact Polly Shoemaker, director of advancement, by email or at 614-410-4231.

Cash gifts are often given to WC via checks and credit cards. When you itemize your tax deductions, cash gifts may be used to eliminate federal income tax. State income tax savings may also apply.

Mail your gift to the Worthington Christian School, Office of Advancement, 6675 Worthington Galena Road, Worthington, OH 43085.

Make a secure online gift using any major credit, debit card, checking, or savings account. You may also set up monthly or annual recurring donations.

A growing number of WC families choose to give assets that have increased in value, such as stock, bonds, or mutual funds, in part, because of the additional tax savings. Often these gifts are deductible at their full value. As an additional benefit, no tax is owed on the capital gains resulting from the sale of securities.

To make a stock gift, authorize your broker or financial consultant to transfer the stock as a contribution to Worthington Christian School by communicating the following information:

  • Stock Name or Symbol
  • Number of Shares
  • Expected Date of Transfer
  • Your Mailing Address
  • Your Phone Number
  • Your Email Address
  • WC Account Information:
    • DTC: 0443
    • FAO:  Worthington Christian Schools, Inc.
    • AC#:  HCS020012
    • Agent Bank:  00443
    • ID:    00443
    • CRD:   2261

Important | When WC is notified by Huntington Investment Company of a stock gift, no name is attached to the gift. As such, please alert the Office of Advancement by email or at 614-410-4231 that the gift is forthcoming so we may properly thank you and receipt your gift.

As we celebrate WC’s 50th Anniversary, many families consider including WC in their estate planning to bless this and future generations of Warriors for Christ. Speak with your financial advisor to add WC to your estate documents.

Services or goods donated to WC which defray expenses are called in-kind gifts and may include things such as printing, event catering, signage, professional photography, and more. If you’d like to explore a possible in-kind gift, contact the Office of Advancement by email or at 614-410-4231.

The heartbeat of WC is our faculty—the men and women called by God to educate and disciple this and future generations of Warriors for Christ. Alumni and alumni parents often mention faculty’s influence when reflecting on their WC experience.

WC invites you to participate in a program designed to bless our faculty with an opportunity for respite and renewal. We’re seeking families willing to offer the use of the following at no or minimal charge to WC faculty:

  • Timeshares
  • Privately Owned Vacation Homes
  • Vacation Packages
  • Airline Miles
  • Hotel Points

Timeshares for Teachers gives faculty a rejuvenating vacation that they otherwise might not be able to afford.

  • Families express their desire to offer their timeshare, vacation home, etc. by clicking on the button and completing the online form.
  • WC finalizes a list of donated opportunities by November 15.
  • The list of possibilities is made available to full-time teachers, who express their interest by December 1.
  • Selection is determined by lottery and communicated to teachers by December 15.
  • Teachers make initial contact with donors by December 31 to begin logistical arrangements.

Please submit the Timeshares for Teachers form by November 15. Donations of time at your timeshare, privately owned vacation home, etc. are not eligible for a tax deduction (IRS Publication 526).

Several businesses offer kickback or reward programs in which a percentage of sales is returned to the charity of your choice. Each year, WC receives kickbacks of $5,000-plus from Kroger and other such programs because our community has made WC their charity of choice. Check with the businesses you frequent most often to learn if they offer such a program.

Did you know that you can direct your United Way gift to WC? That’s right! WC is a non-profit organization making us eligible to receive designated gifts via United Way.
