Volunteer Central Lower School Opportunities
Volunteer Central
Volunteers are a cherished part of life at the Lower School. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, alum, alumni parent, or friend, there are many ways to support our students and teachers—from classroom help and reading groups to special events and field trips.
Room Parents
Room Parents help plan and coordinate teacher birthday celebrations, holiday parties, and other classroom events throughout the year. Volunteers play an important role in building a strong, connected classroom community while supporting both students and staff.
Marmon Valley Weekend
Support this special weekend experience designed to help students and families connect with one another while enjoying God’s creation. This time is focused on building relationships, spending quality time together, and forming lasting bonds.
Volunteers serve as coordinators by scheduling horseback riding, assigning cabins, and greeting Worthington Christian families as they arrive.

Grandparents Day
Help support this event that encourages connection between students and their father figures. Volunteers are primarily responsible for setup and teardown, ensuring the event space is prepared before guests arrive and cleaned up afterward.

Dads and Doughnuts | Fall
What better way to connect with other dads than over coffee and a doughnut? This event, which occurs in the fall and spring, is set aside to share with your child and other dads and to challenge your growth as a father and Christian leader in your family.

Moms and Muffins | Spring
Help support this event that encourages connection between students and their mother figures. Volunteers coordinate the event by planning details, purchasing necessary items, and assisting with setup and teardown.

Cafeteria
Volunteers support daily lunch operations by helping prepare and serve meals while maintaining a safe, positive, and organized environment.
Lower School volunteers assist younger students with opening packages, getting condiments, and cleaning tables between lunch periods. All volunteers should be in place and trained prior to the start of the school year to ensure a smooth and successful experience.

Art Room
Assist the art teacher with preparing materials, organizing supplies, and supporting student projects, making creative activities run smoothly.

Library
Help maintain the library by organizing books, assisting students, and supporting literacy initiatives within the school.

Stay and Play
Assist with organizing and supervising this social/playtime opportunity for students, helping create a fun and safe environment.
